A cry for help cattery Print E-mail

About the Cattery

Geraldine opened her cattery in August 2001, in response to an urgent need for somewhere to take and rehome cats and kittens in our area. Previously she had been working for Friends of Animals in Mullingar and had gained a lot of experience. Since then, Friends of Animals and herself support eachother when possible. The Veterinary Practice in Mullingar refer all unwanted kittens to her and she has also had to take in kittens as far away as Offally and Longford as there is very little elsewhere to look after kittens in need. As a result she alwatys have 20 or 30 kittens for rehoming. Due to this ever increasing need for her services, She have had to increase the size of the many kittens come into her with Cat Flu, Ear mites, worms and Ringworm etc. and she has to keep these sick kittens away from the healthy ones

Founding

All of her work with the Cattery has been funded by her own efforts and the help of her friends and some donations from the public who take kittens from me. Needless to say her costs are always more than her fundraising efforts and with rising veterinary costs she is finding it very difficult to keep going. As we mentioned before there is nowhere else locally who will take kittens and she is now desperate for financial assistance.
